Refund Policy
We want you to feel good about paying us. This policy explains how refunds work at Literal Security.
1. The short version
- Free state: There's nothing to refund. You haven't paid anything until we find your first real vulnerability.
- Monthly subscriptions: Non-refundable. Cancel anytime — your access continues until the end of the billing period, and we won't charge again.
- Annual subscriptions: Full refund within 14 days of initial purchase if you haven't used a probe yet. Pro-rata refunds after 14 days are at our discretion (we'll generally honour reasonable requests).
- Plan downgrades: Take effect at the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds for unused upgrade days.
- Service disruption: If we have a major service outage that materially affects your use, contact us — we'll credit your account.
2. How to request a refund
Email hello@literalsec.com from the email address on your account, with subject "Refund request." Include:
- Your account email
- The transaction date or invoice number
- A brief reason (optional, but helps us improve)
We respond within 3 business days and process approved refunds within 7 business days. Refunds are issued via the same payment method used for the original purchase.
3. What's not refundable
- Months already consumed on a monthly plan.
- Annual plans more than 14 days post-purchase, unless covered by our discretionary case-by-case review.
- Charges arising from probe abuse (e.g., probing systems you don't own) — these may also lead to account suspension under our Terms of Service.
- Add-on or one-time charges marked "non-refundable" at the time of purchase.
4. Chargebacks
If you dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer before contacting us, we may suspend your account pending resolution. Please email us first — we usually resolve these faster than a chargeback would.
5. GST + invoicing (India customers)
Indian customers receive a tax invoice automatically after each successful charge. GST is included in the displayed price for Indian customers where applicable. Refunds include any GST originally charged.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Existing subscribers are governed by the refund policy in effect at the time of their purchase.
